Join us for the Fire Resources Fair on April 27, 2024, from 12:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at the Mateel Community Center, located at 59 Rusk Lane, Redway. Our featured speaker, Yana Valachovic, will present an engaging talk on defensible space, home hardening, and fire insurance tips.

The event also features a panel discussion with all nine Fire Safe Councils and Firewise groups from Southern Humboldt, as well as a variety of information tables hosted by local groups and businesses involved in fire preparedness.

Event Schedule:

  • 12:00 p.m. Doors open. Explore over a dozen tables representing local organizations and businesses. For a small donation, enjoy beverages and both sweet and savory baked goods. Kids can participate in activities and tour fire trucks in the KidZone.
  • 1:00 p.m. – 2:00 p.m. Panel discussion with local Fire Safe Councils and Firewise groups.
  • 2:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m. Open networking and socializing.
  • 3:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m. Yana Valachovic presents on defensible space and home hardening.
  • 4:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m. Open networking and socializing.
