Garberville Fire Safe Meeting
Tuesday, October 11th at 3:30pm
Join members of your community to help prepare Garberville for the coming fire season. We meet every other Tuesday to address the most pressing wildfire issues. Learn about home hardening, fuel breaks, defensible space, and more. Currently, we are working on neighborhood fuels reduction, Firewise community recognition, and educating about home retrofits for fire resiliency (also known as Home Hardening) . If you can’t make it to the meeting look for us on the town square at the Farmers Market on the first Friday of the month, or in front of the Jacob Garber Building (next to Flavors) each other Friday.
We have reflective address signs available to Garberville residents for a small donation, make sure emergency services can find your home quickly! Look for our table on Fridays or contact [email protected].
On October 25th we will be hosting a community-wide meeting to present our Firewise USA application. Join us to learn about the greatest threats to Garberville and simple do-it-yourself solutions to improve your home’s fire resiliency. Meet us at the Garberville Civic Center, at 5pm.
